Stratos Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Can the Su33 or the Mig29 shoot any kind of A-G guided missile or bombs? Of course using mods, I know the real one can't. Will like to use it on smart A-G missions. If yes, can someone tell is wich ones and how to use it?? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Stratos Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Thank's Eric, I started my training, but is not the pipper moving a bit too fast ( well in reality is moving amazingly fast ) so is very hard to aim. any way I can slow it down? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

I loaded a couple of KHML25, destroyed a AAA and then tried to attack a convoy with dumb bombs, and the CCIP is not working any idea?? P.S. Are you sure you sended that golden canopy for Flanker? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Gen. Dragon Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Yes, you can, by editing the MEinit.xml file. I modified the Su-33 to be able to carry Kh-29L A-G missiles. You then lock and launch them in the same way as the Su-25. I modified the loadouts so that I can add six Kh-29L missiles, six FAB-500 bombs in pairs of three on two pylons and four A-A missiles, its a heavy loadout but, very destructive. Just open the MEinit file with notepad, search for the Su-33, look for it's pylon configuration and add the compatible weapons you would like. I also added the Kh-65 nuclear cruise missile to the Su-33's loadout. I can post my MEinit.xml file for download if you would like to use it as an example.

Gen. Dragon Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I will post the file within this week, as for the nuke, it has trouble rendering a nuclear explosion, 90% of the time it makes a normal, small explosion. Graphics options and machine specs may have an influence with this problem.

Both Kh-55 and Kh-65 missiles are armed with conventional warheads and make a normal size Bang. Ignore the information in the Encyclopedia. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! Gen. Dragon Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Unfortunately, that is correct, however, it still is fun to use the missiles as they have a very long range. The Kh-22 has a 1000 kg warhead and still does a lot of damage, it takes out the CVN-70 with one shot. Maybe myself or someone more experienced can someday make a mod for the missiles to render nuclear explosions.

Gen. Dragon Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Yes, the Kh-41 and Kh-22 is quite easy to launch if you have a ground target marked. In the Su-33, select ground attack mode and select the missile, activate the correct radar mode (default "i") and lock the target. When you lock the target, nothing will be displayed but the missile's guidance will be set. Activate the weapons launch override (default "Alt+w" on version 1.02) and launch it.

The problem is that as soon as I fire a missile, the pipper jumps to the center of the flight patch marker. Other than just for fun, I'm not seeing the point of this since you really aren't achieving any stand-off ability. You're getting just as close as you would if you used dumb bombs and with very little increase in accuracy.

Best way to work is, activate the pipper, put it where you can remember it is and where is easy to aim later, deactivate, put the target on the point you selected, activate, target and BOOM! Works great and is damn fun I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Also Shkval can't turn too behind plane so it can't aim it, cause when we release bomb it slow down and fly behind us..., but IR 25T can deploy these bombs. But don't worry, add next pair of Vikhr and you will be have a'la TM (39) version of Frogfoot :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make...
