[CAN'T REPRODUCE] TACAN Yardstick not working?

On mission 1 I couldn't get the TACAN Yardstick to work. I didn't get any ranging. Lead supposed to be set on 56X and player on 119X T/R A/A but does not seem to work.

Maybe something got broken - though double check if you are using correct channel (ie wingman’s if you are a lead and vice versa). I know it sounds stupid but it is a common mistake.

Where did it say which tacan channel to use? Did I miss it somewhere in the briefing? I flew the whole mission without it.

Due to antenna placement and interference from other radio emitters (i.e. Datalink), several TACAN channels are degraded or unusable in the Hornet, but I'm not sure how DCS is modelling that.

 

 

 

 

Or maybe just a bug ?

Same here, F18s can’t seem to emit Tacan. It looks like a DCs bug.

Hey guys, I just tested it in M01 and in custom mission too - Saint's TACAN works, it gives you only distance (as in real life) but everything is fine. One common mistake is to enter wrong channel from the kneeboard, ie player's and not flight leads. But it is working as advertised.

i know this thread is old, but im currently playing this mission on this campaign and not having him (SAINT) on datallink or tacan is rely anoying, specialy while learning all the things.

I debuged the mission 01 miz file and checked that the SAINT unit 45 have on waypoint zero a series of actions (EPLRS on,  Activate TACAN 56X" but at the same time , triggered action of the same unit his switching his waypoint to directly to waypoint 4.

Does that mean that it dont start configuring the EPLRS or TACAN?

The datalink is a hit or miss, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - something on DCS side of things, as everything is set up correctly in Mission Editor. There is nothing you or I can do about it currently
