iFoxRomeo Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 At the title says: Beside IAS and TS, which is actually GS and should be renamed to GS, the TAS should also be displayed. Fox Spoiler PC Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, 3080ti, 64GB RAM, Oculus Quest 3
Nealius Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 TS should not be GS. The F11 free camera speed is unaffected by wind, and if you match 300kts TS shown in the info bar of a jet with 300kts shown in the info bar of the F11 free cam, there will be no relative movement.
Frederf Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 TS is true speed which is not TAS nor GS. TS and groundspeed are similar in that horizontally they are identical. However, an object going 300kt TS at a 60 degree climb would have a ground speed of 150kt. Readouts of TAS and magnetic heading would definitely be helpful options.
