DCS Stable - Lighting is either too bright on the outside, and too dark in cockpit.

DCS Stable - The lighting is either too bright on the outside, and simultaneously too dark in cockpit. This occured about the same time as the cockpit lights issue came up.

At Gamma 2.2 I need polarised sunglasses to see in external views without burning my retinas, and all colours are washed out with brightness. If I turn the Gamma down to 1.7 so I don't get blinded extrnally, the cockpits are invisible in the shadows.

Are there any tips on finding a balance?

Regards

So, the answer is... Transition lenses??? :-)

And yes, whoever thoought that the massively blown out colour/brightness was a good starting point needs an AAMRAM pineapple...

Seems like DCS has had lighting issues since 2.0 and deferred rendering . Dunno why , really . One of the things that first caught my eye in 1.5 was how well the lighting looked .

It's no better in open beta. This began with the 2.5.6 patch. I haven't seen anywhere that ED had acknowledged the problem. I stopped posting about it, have installed mustang's mod, which makes things bearable.

Gamma set to 1.0 = world looks great, cockpit is a black hole.Gamma set to 2.2 = cockpit looks great, world is completely blown out.

Running latest OB here and I settled somewhere in between with gamma at 1.5, which for me makes it OK-ish...

Lighting most definitely still needs tweaking though, but I'm pretty sure ED is working on it
