3080 reviews are out

If I can get close to the performance of the 3080 at half the price, I will gladly do the driver dance hell Ill do the driver strip-tease :lol:

 

(But yeah, if the card performs similarily or slightly better than an Nvidia card at a similar price point, then Nvidia is definitely the way to go. Especially considering the RTX and DLSS technologies)

 

I believe the thread of AMD forced NVDA to reduce the price. So good for all of us.

 

As for the paper launch, Games Nexus pretty much proved that it wasn't. There was an incredible demand which caused record traffic for all the players.

Quick update. After messing around with various settings I have settled on this for now with my 5k+:

2976x2448, msaa 2x, 1.5 pitool, normal fov. PG F18 freeflight is 70fps. Nice and clean picture, jaggies almost entirely gone. Pretty happy with that. Definite upgrade from the 1080Ti.

7700K@5Ghz, 32GB 3600, 3080.

Yeah, freeflight is pretty easy to maintain a good 60fps+. It's when you're flying with other jets that it becomes a shitshow for me.

 

Good news is that my 3090 is confirmed to arrive in 48 hours. I'll post my impressions a few days later.
