as above. i have a 7900k at 5ghz and im wondering if now is the time for a full system upgrade (not happy with vr performance at all considering)

is there anything new coming soon that ive missed?

ps watercooling isnt a problem and i would overclock, although i know nothing about overclocking amd

7700k @5ghz, 32gb 3200mhz ram, 2080ti, nvme drives, valve index vr

You would have marginal gains if any.

I think it is best to wait and see what amd will release next month (ryzen 4000 series).

Same with Ryzen2 launch: AMD like to hide any information about performance prior to launch event. (They even like to troll with the Speeds in Ghz and then give some more than expected).

Let´s see.

Agreed on waiting. Flight sims seem to all be very mhz dependent. I've got a 3800x and it does well enough, and was a huge step up from my 4770K, but the Sky Lake chips at 5Ghz+ are just faster than the Zen 2 ones right now.

 

I'm hearing good rumours about the Zen 3, and with FS2020 becoming a regular benchmark, I think we should get a solid idea of how it would compare to the Intel parts at launch.
