speed-of-heat Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Without knowing settings, and windows state it’s almost impossible to say for sure, but , my guess would be yes you could get 60fps in VR... my own experience of 60hz in on the Reverb g1 is suboptimal, but I know others swear by it. For me there were two factors against it: - for me I seem to be sensitive to the low level ‘flicker’ that takes place at 60hz ... low level constant reminder - edge conditions will force you down to less than 60hz at some point and you either deal with shuddering/jittering or switch on motion vectoring which will give you 30fps in those scenarios, likely those conditions will be less for you because of your more powerful gpu... fylzz Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I have G1 Reverb. With 60hz the screen brightness and colors are off. The experience is not great. Honestly the rig to run DCS with a Reverb level HMD does not exist yet. Free flight works and it is really great to have this kind of immersion, but when you will start real missions or campaign you will get a stutter fest. Framerate will drop for no reason. Low passes, clouds, bad weather will make your framerate drop below 45fps again and again. I tried a lot of tweaks and mods but there’s no way get smooth vr (always over 45 FPS ). I’m back to 2D, this was hard to accept for me at first but now I can concentrate on the planes and stop fiddling with the settings. Similar system, not nearly as OC'ed as you. I usually run 4.8-4.9, I really need to get a water cooler. But yeah I routinely see 60fps with my modest GFX settings and I have a setting that can get me 90fps (not pretty and only offline), and a reverb G1, but you really don't want to run the G1 at 60fps, it could just be me but I can see the screen actually flicker at that refresh rate a bit, its really unpleasant for me. But 60fps with the 90hz rate is fine. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
