So I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug but couldn't find anything about it being correct behavior so I will post it here anyway.

I noticed when you set the TAD as SOI and use the cursor to hook a friendly the yellow position line and the green dashed box do not appear over them inside the HMCS FOV.

Conversely if you hook a friendly using the HMCS it does not have the yellow dashed line on the TAD either.

I have not tried this with other assets yet or waypoints/mark-points so it may do the same with those as well.

Here is a track I made showing what I'm seeing. This also seems to be how it works in MP too.

Looked in the updated manual and didn't see anything about that, do you have a page number or source?

Seems strange that the system integration would work like that.

Well yeah my testing shows that's how it currently works in game too. While I like RedKites videos, I wouldn't call them a valid source of info beyond how the game currently functions. It seems to me that he is just explaining how the systems work in game at this very moment.

Considering I can set a SPI on the TAD and it appears on the HMD and vice versa, one would assume a hook from the TAD would also appear on the HMD and vice versa.

Currently I can have a hook on the TAD and a hook in the HMD and get 2 different steering cues, one on the HUD and one in the HMD.

This might be true to life behavior, but since none of the included documentation seems to indicate this I have to assume it is a bug until ED says otherwise.

If someone has a source showing this is correct I would appreciate it.

According to the Dash 1, the hooks on TAD and HMCS are independent. However, the HUD will display the hookship of whatever got hooked last. So if you hook something on the TAD and after that hook something else via HMCS, the HUD should show the hookship symbol for the object which was hooked with the HMCS.

Thanks for the info. The -1 does indeed seem to imply they are separate even though I couldn't find an explicit description saying so.

Unfortunately it seems that the only time you get a hookship symbol on the HUD is when you hook something from the TAD.

So the TAD/HMD steering cues appear to be correct but the HUD steering cues and hookship symbol do not. Should I make a new thread about that or can it be reported here?

I've never seen HMCS hook display at all on HUD nor TAD hook display at all on HMCS. To put it another way TAD hook never displays on the helmet and helmet hook never displays on the HUD.

Just to make sure, are you a Hog driver IRL? I'm not a SME, but this is what I was reading in the Dash-1 (NeMoGas even quoted it, what I was trying to avoid due to forum rules *cough*). Might be the real A-10 does not follow the Dash-1 on that one (IRL bug?).

Can we get the HUD hookship and steering cues only showing for TAD hooks and not HMCS hooks reported here or should I make another thread? They are somewhat related to the original post so let me know, thanks.

Are you talking about DCS or real life? If your talking about real life then the -1 has a typo and the mods can disregard.

No A-10 experience. I was describing what I see in DCS.
