Hipshot845 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Hi, There are a few threads below that are describing the same sort of problems I’ve had since 2 updates ago. It’s about target designation with/without the litening pod and the pod in general. Some examples: I put a waypoint right on a target in mission editor. When flying I select that waypoint on the HSI and select waypoint designate. The pod looks miles away at nothing. Litening is never in snowplough mode. It travels at an angle to direction of flight. If I designate an object as a target through litening, the target diamond on the HUD is placed miles away from where the litening is looking. If dropping a bomb in AUTO, designating an object as a target through Litening causes the Azimuth Steering Line to appear in any random direction and nowhere near the target. If trying to bomb in CCIP, the CCIP line joined to the cross remains parallel to the horizon in any direction the whole time. This F18 is in the hangar for now as it is useless in air to ground. This never used to happen but if anyone can suggest something that may be the cause like a new bad habit I may have formed and am unaware of it would be great to hear about it. As there are others describing much the same problem in this forum I’m hoping that a programmer can make a fix in an update if it’s not something that I and others are causing. Thanks Richard

Hipshot845 Posted October 9, 2020 Author Posted October 9, 2020 OK. Thanks for your help but I have only ever switched INS switch to NAV after INS alignment and haven’t had these faults before. I will try it tomorrow. Thanks again. Richard

Hipshot845 Posted October 10, 2020 Author Posted October 10, 2020 Thanks to DorianR666 and NPOSuperhornet. Both very helpful and your advice solved every problem I listed. I had previously totally missed the tweeks that needed me to use IFA. Back to lovin’ this plane again. Richard
