I have to drives. A 1 TB HD and a 250g SSD. I use Win 10 Pro. Right now I just have DCS and BMS installed for games. I have it all on the SSD drive. The HD is empty. I have 65g left on the SSD. I've only installed planes in DCS. No terrain because I don't want to use up what space I have left on the SSD. Everything runs smooth and trouble free.

My question is. Would it be wise to move Windows to the HD and save the SSD for just games? Would that slow down Windows or the games? If that's a good idea. How do I do it. I'm not that knowledgeable with computers. I buy them built.

Given the low costs of SSDs at the moment , i would consider getting a 500gb ssd for DCS , and keeping Windows where it is . SSDs are very simple to install .

Windows can't really be moved ... you can either re-install it on the new drive (which takes a lot of time and means re-installing every software that you currently have), or use a cloning software to clone the current contents of the SDD onto the HDD.

Yes, of course it would slow down windows .. the games not so much. Nowadays the HDD are only used to store documents, not softwares.

If it were my PC, I would purchase a 1 TB Sata SSD and replace the current HDD with it. Then move BMS and DCS onto the new drive. The HDD can be sold as second hand or you can purchase an enclosure to convert it onto an external drive for back-ups.
