agrasyuk Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 I love the warthog and my pit build is centered around it, but now there are more planes that interest me. Viper because Syria, Horned because of carriers! I have room for more panels in the side consoles to populate all the required panels, but the MIP... I guess Viper MIP is similar enough with two MFCDs and the UFC can be somewhat reused, but what do I do for the Hornet that has the AMPCD? I'm stuck and can't decide between the two MIPS! I was thinking to do a hybrid with removable UFC and warthog's HSI placed into the AMPCD frame, but that composition turns out really strange. Anton. My pit build thread . Simple and cheap UFC project
RightStuff Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Go with the AMPCD (F18]. What is missing can (mostly) be put into the display frame. And by using Helios you can program a kind of menu for this display: Depending on the pressed OSB you can bring up different gauges or other things which won't fit anywhere else. Or mimic the CPD of the F16 Blk 60. That way you'll have a suitable display for Ka50 ABRIS - if that is of interest for you: https://www.ainonline.com/sites/default/files/uploads/2014/08/webelbit-f-16-upgrades.jpg
aniron Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 One option is to make parts of the pit modular/removable. E.g. you could turn a quick release, lift out the A-10 UFC and fire handles, unplug a cable, and plug in an F14 ACM panel, an F/A-18 UFC or an F16 ICP module in its place. Much easier for a VR pit where you wouldn't have mechanical steam gauges or displays, of course.
