Petercove Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Hi, I am very slowly coming up to speed on the FA/18 and A10C Warthog. I recently invested in the Thrustmaster FA/18 stick and really like it. However it is of course lacking one 4 position hat switch compared to the A10C stick. I would be keen to see how others have mapped their TM Warthog with the new stick. I am up to learning the TPOD in the FA/18 so there is a bunch of inputs I would like to include in my HOTAS set up. Some stuff is relatively easy using the OSBs but I wonder what works best. Using search here is tricky as typing in "FA/18 stick" brings up very aircraft in DCS Much obliged, Peter
VpR81 Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Not using the TM Hornet grip anymore, but i had it mapped like it is in the real thing. Except for the thumbwheel of course, wich was used for radar antenna elevation up/down and center view. kengou Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 I have the f/A-18 stick and also use the real-life mappings and nothing else. I mean, that's why you bought it, right, to have a stick just like the real plane? Sensor Select is used for the TPOD. Radar elevation and raid/fov and TDC cursor are all available on the throttle in the real thing, so I suggest mapping those buttons to your throttle. 1 Virpil WarBRD | Thrustmaster Hornet Grip | Foxx Mount | Thrustmaster TWCS Throttle | Logitech G Throttle Quadrant | VKB T-Rudder IV | TrackIR 5 AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB | 32GB DDR4 3200 | SSD
sirrah Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 I have the f/A-18 stick and also use the real-life mappings and nothing else. Same here, except I use the little selector/button wheel thingy (below the sensor control switch) for carrier ball call. 1 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Petercove Posted October 21, 2020 Author Posted October 21, 2020 Thanks a lot. It all helps. Now back to that TPOD. :-)
