I works fine with Lockon, but be prepared that some tweaking might be needed. I use the X-fi card, and per default, I did not get the response that I wanted. But by using Alchemy, suddenly the planes started moving beneath my butt :smilewink:

I lost the whining sound of the engines, but gained in afterburner thump.

You will also have problems with the GAU cannon. Unfortunatly, that cannot be solved as it has to do with from where the sound comes from (look to the righ or left and fire and you will notice it). It can be improved by fiddeling with the soundfile a bit, but you wont feel it like in the Eagle.

Also , rolling on tarmac can be be too loud. But after last installation of x-fi drivers I did not get that problem any more. You will feel the cracks in the pavement.

I love my Bittkicker!

It's actually really nice when you feel the resitance of the air when deploing the airbrakes and flaps as the wind sounds increase.

You will not be dissapointed.

thanks for the heads up CoNa.

just gave it a good session in rfactor and found it was pretty darn good:thumbup:

now off to try the a10 and the eagle.

edit:

what can i say, i felt the A-10 get shot down, panning in externals was really bad but feeling the hits is cool.

definately needs some fine tuning but i like it, enough to try it again, and again.

after some further testing

buttkicker really is good, rounds from a btr-70 rocked thru the A-10 fuselage and kind of scared me as it rattled the chair

i am liking this more and more.

I don't like bailing out, but punching out the first time I nearly had a heart attack! It won't get any closer to a real eject :megalol:

after several hours of racing and flying with the:

"buttkicker gamer".

i would have to say i am adequately impressed to endorse this device and give it a high rating and include it in my list of essential gaming accessories.

the only negative aspects i can think of is the fact that vioce comms such as ventrillo and Ts2 make the unit vibrate in responce to the speech, but careful tuning reduces this effect on comms sufficiently to not be a problem while still providing the required effect for in game sensation.

its my opinion that the buttkicker gamer is a worthy addition to your sim pit as it definitely adds to the desired feeling of being there, for example:

in racing you can feel: ripple strips, grass, gear changes, impacts and engine revs.

when flying you can feel the runway, the afterburners, hits from enemy gun fire, firing you own cannon, ejecting and missle hits etc.

recently as i downed an enemy chopper in the SP f-15 patrol mission, i flew past the mountain side just as the heli impacted the ground and i felt the explosion, really adding to the immersion.

if you find yourself with around $300 Aus burning a hole in your pocket and a itch that can only be scratched with the warm feeling of a new pc gadget then this is the item you have been looking for, 2 thumbs up:thumbup::thumbup:

ButtKicker

Hi there,

I am waiting for the Black Shark; does it work with it? Will I feel some hard maneuvers in my @ss? Finishing a dive with 150 kts at 50 feet AGL or braking hard before landing with teeth chaaaaatteeeeeriiiiiing:)? I will love it!

Cheers!

If you bought a super crappy audio system with a big subwoofer and a powerful amplifier you could make one yourself quite easily I thinks :)

Can you set a low-pass filter to control at what frequency the butt kicker kicks?

Posted

sulan: it has a low and a high filter cut off switch with adjustment from

40-160, measured in Hz i guess.

groove is right,

if you have in game sound you are good 2 go.

vs461: i don't think it will provide exactly what you are thinking but it does provide some great ingame sensation.

more so cannon fire, getting hit etc, until i try it with BS this is only my belief, possibly effects from hard collective action may be felt if it generates a noticable sound difference, lets hope so.

Airflow around and through main rotor and airframe can generate some interesting sound (and vibration) effects. Some are normal:), some don't:(

Think I need a ButtKicker :D

THX!

One of the better sim related/game related purchases I've made after TrackIR and rudder pedals of course. It really adds to the immersion of Il2 1946 and other games. I love the suprise feeling of getting a flak burst or getting shot up from the rear. Engine start ups and throttle positions are great too, I think 1946 really works well with the BK, since so many planes of that era are like Harley Davidsons when you start them up, its great to be able to feel!

I definitely reccomend it.
