Hummingbird Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Seeing as we're soon to be getting the EF-2000 in DCS, would the JAS-39C not also be possible? And what better developer to take on this task than Heatblur, considering it's experience developing the AJS-37? 4
TLTeo Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 HB have stated that they don't have enough information on the JA-37 to add it to DCS, because many of its systems went into the Gripen. I wouldn't hold my breath.
Hummingbird Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 Interesting. Well I hope SAAB sees the light and allow them to do it same as Eurofighter GmbH allow TG to do the EF.
Baco Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Now Brasil has The Griphen and can produce them too maybe that opens up the door in the near future...
QuiGon Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 https://twitter.com/HBSimulations/st...44876241027072 ;) Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Lurker Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 https://twitter.com/HBSimulations/st...44876241027072 ;) Sorry to burst your bubble, but that twitter post from Cobra was made in 2016. While a Grippen would be nice to have, I think I would prefer even a Tornado over it. ;) Specs: Win10, i5-13600KF, 32GB DDR4 RAM 3200XMP, 1 TB M2 NVMe SSD, KFA2 RTX3090, VR G2 Headset, Warthog Throttle+Saitek Pedals+MSFFB2 Joystick.

Lurker Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 Yeah, while the Grippen is a great fighter jet, we need more fast interdiction/attack aircraft in the game ASAP. The Viggen is truly great, but it's kind of an oddball. More an anti-shipping platform really. Something like the F-111, or the Tornado, or even better yet the Su-24 (one can dream) is absolutely needed in the game and Heatblur would be ideal to make any one of those. Hummingbird Posted October 23, 2020 Author Posted October 23, 2020 (edited) I dunno, to me the Gripen would fit perfectly into our sim, being capable in most roles. Doesn't hurt that I've always been fascinated with the kit of my Nortern brothers ofcourse, and really impressed by their keeping pace with the much bigger countries/powers out there. The STOL capability of the Gripen is also something I think many would find extremely fun to play with. Finally, since I do a lot of BFM I am kind of biased towards having more of these agile fighters ingame :) Edited October 23, 2020 by Hummingbird 1
