silverdevil Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 i am sure to be doing something wrong. when i watch the tutorial videos that various sources have done, there is a range staple they mention and i can see. this shows range for a quick glance. i do not seem to get this. any suggestions for what the problem is? for my example i am using the guided rockets. i still get hits and destroy vehicles. but i am just manually guessing by virtue of the true range to target (lower right of tpod display) AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. Frederf Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 No linear staple as far as I know in HUD or TGP for APKWS.
Ziptie Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 No range staple for the APKS rockets. 7-8 miles is typically a PK range for APKS. I did encounter a 'bug' with the CBU-105 where after landing for a rearm and refuel, the range staple was missing from the HUD - even though it showed my range with caret along with release timer. This was after I had a systems failure and had to perform an inflight alignment along with a few other system reboots. After switching aircraft, the issue was resolved - so might have just required me to perform a ground alignment after returning to base. Pretty similar to what you see when employing an IR maverick (for display in the HUD).
