alexis0391 Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Hi All, Could you please help me out on this please ? Everything is in the title :) Thanks ! Alexis
myHelljumper Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 As said elsewhere, it could be correct behavior. In order to have intercept symbology on your HUD you should use the police mode, it's selected by the POL button on the PCA. alexis0391 Posted November 3, 2020 Author Posted November 3, 2020 thanks for the answer, indeed it works with POL mode :) i will read about POL mode, i don't know exactly what its used for
Ramsay Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 i will read about POL mode, i don't know exactly what its used for POL = Air Policing mode, it allows locking targets for SA and/or intercept in a civilian environment, where selecting A2A weapon modes might be prohibited by ROE, etc. i.e. loss of radio communication with an airliner i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
Frederf Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 POLice mode is for training or conducting interceptions without a chance of firing but otherwise everything looks the same as a live attack to the pilot. It makes perfect sense that radar targets would display on the HUD. The whole mode is designed to be nearly identical to the shooting mode. Navigation mode is another question. I would be surprised if radar targets aren't on the HUD. What is you're tracking your flight member? What is it's in the middle of a cloud? That's a collision hazard. Do you know of any other airplane that has the ability to display radar contact on HUD that chooses not to? 1
alexis0391 Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Fredert this is my point.. and in simulation you never know if it's to be fixed or if its compliant with reality. And i don't have a M2000c realife pilot in my relatives ^^
DimSim Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Good information. I noticed the lock box missing from recent builds. It does enable with either missile selected so I assumed it was intended behavior. I must try police mode what following or investigating friendly aircraft.
