Ballinger French Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Hi, New to the A10 II but a veteran of the C for a long time. :) With the A10II, after selecting weapons and attacking a target, I cannot make flightplan waypoints as steerpoints again via the TMS short (HUD as SOI) like I can in A10C unless I deselect all weapons first on the DMS page. With weapons selected on the DMS page, the steerpoint reverts to IFCC rather than a flightplan waypoint in A10II. A10C will go from TGP as steerpoint back to a flightplan waypoint as steerpoint under the same conditions. What exactly is an IFCC SPI as steerpoint in A10II? Thank you for any clarification you can provide.
Emmy Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 It stands for Integrated Flight & Fire Control Computer. But if you’re asking why, when you’re in that mode on the HUD, your SPI can be a very long ways away, I’m honestly not sure. With HUD SOI, TMS AFT LONG should get you out of it and back to STPT and then you should be back to being able to set SPI with whichever SOI you prefer. Stuka Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 TMS AFT Short creates makes your SPI the predicted impact point of the weapon. SPI generator will display IFFCC. 1 Windows 11 | i9 12900KF | 64GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | TM MFDs + Lilliput 8" | TIR5 Pro

Yes, this is behavior of the DCS 10C, but A10II goes to IFFCC as steerpoint/SPI when weapons are still selected (thus displaying the predicted impact point of the weapon) after attacking a TGP designated SPI and reverting back to a regular steerpoint via TMS AFT short. In other words, when weapons are selected active on the DMS page and you TMS AFT short to go back to a non-TGP designated steerpoint, the system automatically reverts to an IFFCC steerpoint. This is apparently newer and more realistic behavior exclusive to the A10II. Only after deselecting weapons on the DMS does the system then accept regular flightplan waypoints as a steerpoint. Thank you.
Stuka Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 There’s no such thing as an IFFCC steerpoint. What you did was make IFFCC the SPI generator. Not new to the Hog II, always has been there. Ballinger French Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Okay, I was confused (sorry, I'm the top official in charge of the U.S. election and it's been hectic lately). ;) TMS aft short makes the IFFCC SPI. TMS aft long makes the current flightplan steerpoint SPI. When the IFFCC is SPI, however, I cannot change steerpoints when HUD is SOI, and that's what was confusing me. I assume this is normal behavior?
Frederf Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 You should be able to hands on change waypoints at all times.
