hawk4me Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Curious if these pylons will be included on our F16 or will it just be the TER-9A? Even the background image has the BRU-33 pod holding 2 MK-82's. It should be a better rack to use when only carrying 2 MK 82's Or GBU-12's on 3 and 7 pylons. Don't know if there are any limitations that are in the RL bird. I edited the LUA file to include them and they seem to work just fine without any issues, haven't tried doing a 4 bomb pass or anything to see if the ripple settings work or not though.
hawk4me Posted November 3, 2020 Author Posted November 3, 2020 Found a pic but not sure it's a BLK 50 or not. That's the GBU-54 as well but I assume that's more modern than our BLK 50.
hughesj2 Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 So from Wags' post https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-f-16c-viper/242691-planned-f-16c-systems-and-payloads He mentions BRU-57/A Smart Rack which looks very similar to me (functionality wise) to googled BRU-33, but I'm sure one of the rack experts will chime in and qualify.. In fact fas.org says this on it's BRU-55/57 page "The Air Force's BRU-55A/A consists of the BRU-33 strongback (GFE from the Navy), 2 x BRU-46 ejector units, and electronics (being developed under the EMD contract)." Cheers JH
llOPPOTATOll Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 I believe the difference between the BRU-33 and the BRU-55 is that the BRU-55 has the correct wiring for smart munitions.

That's a BLK 40 from the 510th FS out of Aviano, Italy bro! DO it or Don't, but don't cry about it. Real men don't cry!
Bunny Clark Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 The BRU-33 is a simple double bomb rack for carrying weapons that require no data connection to the aircraft. As far as I know it's only used by the Navy, the Air Force uses the TER-9 in this role. There are two versions of the same basic rack but upgraded with MIL-STD-1760 data lines for GPS guided weapons. These are the BRU-55 for the Navy, and BRU-57 for the Air Force. All three versions look nearly identical from the outside. The BRU-33 is in DCS, it's used by the Hornet to carry Mk.82s, Mk.83s, Mk.20s, CBU-99s, GBU-12s, and Rockets. The BRU-55 is in DCS as well, used by the Hornet to carry AGM-154As, AGM-154Cs, and GBU-38s. The BRU-57 is on the official Viper roadmap, so we should see it with JSOWs and JDAMs eventually. 1 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign.
