Hum a desert scheme not sure what you mean

.

The 917TFW AFRES developed two test camouflages to replace European 1or 3 counting the changes.

These were Flipper and Peanut neither were accepted by the U.S. Air Force. Flipper and Peanut 1 have been included because I have pictures of them at Barksdale AFB.

Peanut 2is not included in the pack do to the lack of evidence it was ever painted on an aircraft.

I am not aware of any other desert scheme unless you want a fictional skin .If that is the case may be in another pack this collection of skin focuses on camouflage schemes used by the U.S.Air force.

The only additions i have made is to add unit markings and shields were non may have been used

The air craft listed will be include for various historical reasons other for friends I have flown with for years and a few just because I like the way they turned out. so far included in the pack that is now being tested

11 Old 81st TFW WR

12 Old 23rd Wing Shark EL

These pictures don't do the skins justice, they look even better in game.

No I used modman after I found out the skins werent working...they work now, but the skins you sent overwrote the original a-10 skins from sim-mod. At least thats what I got out of it when I put your files in the proper folder (bazar/world/shapes)...I still have my template, I just dont have the rest of the skin (JAWS WA.)

Posted (edited)

all you have to do is uninstall the pack every thing will be where it was hope you made a back up of the meint A-10 skins and graphic if not you can reload the originals form the A-10 model modman pack all the skins are in a CDDS folder so the originals are still in there cdds folder new Meint file attached to fix the Live to fly

Live to Fly, Fly to Kill is an official skin update to the Sim-Mod A-10A model.

This Package is focused on early U.S.A. F and camouflage

Down Load http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ddthnh2tinn

DeadmanMark1.jpg

Install with ModMan 6.3.0.1

This Package has a new Meint file back up your old file. All that has been change are the names for the A-10’s COLOUR SCHEME in the Payload window

Template made by Deadman, Weathering by Ruggbutt, Skins made by Deadman.

The original Skins 0-7and numbers will not be over written they are located in

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\World a-10-bmp.cdds and a-10-tga.cdds to change locations of skins in the payload window or to use a mix of the old and new please see the SIM-MOD A-10A Read me PDF

The new skins 10-24 are located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\World a-10-bmp1.cdds and a-10-tga1.cdds

The SIM-MOD A-10A Read me PDF included with the model, covers every thing you need to know for Skin and number placement changes to changing the color of the number or making a new skin. Cosmonaut’s tutorial is all so an excellent source of information http://cosmonaut1.wordpress.com/2008/02/09/cdds-tutorial-version-3/

If you decide to change the number or tail markers you will notice that there has been changes made to the names located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\World\Shapes A-10.Skin

Lusterletter.tga is now AF_B.tga (Black) or AF_W (White) or AF_BW (Black &White)

tail_letter_sp for example is now Tail_WA_B.tga

Year.tga is now YEAR_B.tga

Numbersn is now NUMBERS_B.tga

eng_afres_w.tga is now AFRES_B.tga

Special Thanks go out to Mitch Janssen, and Evader for example and inspiration on the template. To Noti A-10 and Highwayman-Ed for countless hours of beta testing, opinions, support, and the occasional Gibbs smack to stop drawing and enjoy flying. Last and not least Yeniceri and the Sim-Mod Team for six months of work and time dedicated to making the new A-10A model Thank you all Deadman

Maybe a stupid question but here goes and I'm sorry if it's been nasked before.

Is this wonderful mod going to alter anything in CAW when it's installed ?

Thanks for any answer

I have no idea the only thing changed from the stock A-10 modle meint is the names in the A-10 color selection in two places If the CAW has tones of thing rewritten in the meint i think you could intall it just like the A-10 model how ever you did that

since this changes the meint, thomas might have to put out a compatibility meint for this latest skin to CAW, however, it would be easier if deadman pointed out the changes he made, like highlight them. And we could edit it manually.

@deadman, it would be cool if you added the list of suggestions that I made previously in your PM, I think that would really refine the look of these skins. Maybe in a future pack?

Here is how to add the names of the new skins i would back up the meint file before you do any thing. I use another program to work on the meint but the but the XML explorer is all ready in Modman so you don't need to down load any thing.

1 Open Modman

1.jpg

2 Select the Meint file

2.jpg

3 open the menit file

3.jpg

4 Select Units Planes Plane A-10A Color Schemes

4.jpg

The name changes have been boxed

5.jpg

5. Now scroll down and open Countries, Country USA, Units,Planes, Plane A-10A, Color Scheme

6.jpg

^ now change the same names here

7.jpg

@ SKF I answered your suggestion in the PM there is no reason to make this a public at this time
