DimSim Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Just returned to Harrier after about a year. Followed the guide and steps to perform CCRP bombing with some MK 82 bombs in the bombing training mission. I don't see the vertical guide line at all, so no weapon release. What could I be missing, or is there a bug in the current beta build? Switching to CCIP works fine. In Auto, I've got the ground target designated, TV mode, A/G, Fuse, Master Arm etc.
Recluse Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 If you are using the Open Beta, AUTO (CCRP) bombing has changed drastically. You need to use the DESG function on the EHSD. Here's a video of what it looks like currently in the Open Beta. I don't think the STABLE version has changed yet. ..and here's a thread.... https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/licensed-third-party-projects/razbam/av-8b-n-a/resolved-bugs/7141808-as-intended-ehsd-desg-shouldn-t-be-prerequisite-for-all-auto-deliveries
DimSim Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for, thought there was mention of recent changes.
lwalter Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I read the bug thread linked here, but I'm still not sure I fully understand what's going on. Does it mean you can only designate a target from the EHSD Designate button? Does it just designate the current waypoint as the target? What if I want to use the targeting pod? Can't I just push the HOTAS designate button to get the AUTO CCRP bomb fall line? Do I always have to designate a waypoint first? and then can I switch to TPOD designation method? iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
DimSim Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 Others can reply also, but yes, you must designate a target waypoint for the CCRP line to appear. For some other weapons, the waypoint seems optional.

IIRC that's how it's supposed to work. TDC depress should make target designation which should in turn make AUTO attacks possible. I do not know why is it now forced to press DESG button to make whatever you have targeted a valid target designation. It just seems like something that would never be accepted in an actual aircraft because of the completely unintuitive workflow. Btw, currently you can find your target, designate it with TPOD/DMT and after you have done all that, go back to EHSD and press DESG. That will make the target designation you need for AUTO attack to work.

Yes. There is DESG STP and DESG TGT meaning you can designate a steerpoint and a targetpoint. If there is not targetpoint made by any of the sensors, pressing the DESG button will designate current steerpoint. If there is a targetpoint made by any of the sensors, pressing the DESG button will designate that targerpoint and you will be able to make AUTO attack.
lwalter Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Thanks for the clarification @Rapax and @Vakarian !
