TOP GUN (1986) F-14A Skins

Ok, ill admit it. I need to get my Top Gun on. Final Countdown was great n all - but I would love Top Gun VF-1/213 skins for the F-14A.....

 

Screen accurate, works of art, no less.

 

With the TOP GUN movie VF-1 squadron patch available in the logbook and the F-5 having a "Top Gun" movie MiG-28 skin - is it possible we could see official HB Top Gun skins?

 

The Top Gun skins for the F-14B were pretty good, I must say. 90% of my F-14 hours were in one of these jets.

 

Is that blasphemy?

 

I feel a bit less like a "walt" in a fictitious jet. I know that sounds strange. Anybody else get that feeling sometimes, when simming (playing make believe)?

You know, you can use those B skins on A too, just copy them to proper folder.

I would rather we got accurate 1980s VF-1 skins first, then the TOP GUN skins but we will see.

The existing skins DO work fine just copy them over, though they may have details wrong (especially model and build number under the nacelle for those guys who are detailed about such things), until they make them. With the contest, there will soon be a good many in the download section. Until then plenty of A model squadron schemes for the B, for which there's a Top Gun scheme in there I already have in my A folder as well as one of my favorite low vis VF-84 schemes (which has F-14B under the nacelle but will hold me over until the Fear the Bones campaign comes out):
