Then declare this new CDDS before the original one in your graphics.cfg. ++ Az' 1

Although the model name is b-20.lom so it might be named b-20. Deadman Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Well Its a LOM model with out a skin file the paint does not change so skin may just be on the model If you making a new model you don't need to worry about the old . Here's some more: a model like that would have to have some number of LODs i.e. what is it in poly count now 2500? LOD-01 could have 2000 polys and LOD-03 could have 500 polys and LOD-04 only one for a joke. So I would sugest to get rid of them holes in the LOD-03 for example otherwise it would have more polys than SU-25. I hope this helps a litle. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.

Well, in fact... no. ;) v6.2.0.0 & higher of ModMan recognizes natively the new CDDS files and declares them automatically in the graphics.cfg => use it ! :) (or better, use the last version 6.3.0.1, which come without some "nice" bugs, regarding this particular function and others ones) This is the best way, as it preserves the specific graphic settings (also included in graphics.cfg) of each user installing the mod. :) ++ Az'

I would... if you look at su-25_lod-01.lom model you will see how small the number of polys is. So for lod-00 I would make 2.500 polys, for the lod-01 2000 polys and make it visible form 100 to 30 meters than 500 polys from 600m to 100m and 8 polys from 1200m to 600m. For the 8 poly launcher you can make four sided cone and extrude it, for the 500 polys and 2000polys model I wouldn't bother with them holes since they wouldn't be visible. (This is not a reference but just a guide for providing some clues of what you've got to look at) There is a proper guide for reducing lod polys and I think it's the builings reference manual.
