MW4 was alright aside from the MP problem of cheating.

I used to play MW2... and MW3... a lot. For some reason I just didn't like MW4.

I played EarthSiege 2 and I much enjoyed it. Like mechs, I regreat now there is no any mech game for present times with better graphics, and other things...

I used to play MW2 and 3 too.. :) But I played Mechcommander 1 and 2 even more, it's a pity these games were discontinued :( I was really in to series..

I've played the hell out of every Mechwarrior-game since I first got my hands on MW2. Bought MW2: Ghost Bear Legacy and MW2: Mercenaries, then jumped onto both Mechcommander 1 and MW3 plus it's expansion (Pirate's Moon). MW4 was okay, but I always hated that they went down on the graphics compared to MW3. Both the expansion to the stock MW4, both the Mekpacks and MW4: Mercenaries were also played. Sadly they never really got back up to the hair-raising fights that MW3 had (especially the underground mission where you had to go through an old mine, only to meet a 100ton-mech along the way. Also played Mechcommander 2 extensively, and that game is still among my favorite tactical games ever.

 

There's been many attempts to add onto MW4 after Microsoft dropped the ball, with mixed results. MekTek has given out at least two mekpacks, where you among others get the Urbanmech and a few others you see in Mechcommander2. People have also been waiting for MW5, since the story doesn't end after you've completed MW4: Mercs. Sadly, Microsoft has pretty much said that it won't happen, and IF it happens, it'll most likely be a console-game. Which would suck, as it'd be another arcade, and not a sim per see.

 

That being said, there's people developing a Mechwarrior-mod for Crysis. I've seen some of the images rendered in the Crysis-engine, and I'm anticipating some insane mech-combat in multiplayer if they can pull it off. Would be damn cool if they managed to make a singleplayer-campaign as well, but I don't hold that as very likely.

The best MP fights I ever had were with mercenaries on a 5 player LAN:thumbup:. There were some awesome fights and it pays to read the books as well as there is an insight into weapons etc that help in modifying your mech for better use against opponents.

Mech Assualt for the Xbox. Anyone play that? That game was freaking awesome. Nothing matched the online play of it at the time. The sequel, Mech Assault 2 was disappointing for me. The addition of the VTOL delivering powerups to your team sounded awesome, but if your team had an idiot flying the VTOL, you lost, guaranteed.
