Tippis Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Maybe I'm just being blind but is there no way to edit posts without using the WYSIWYG editor? It's horribly clunky compared to just typing in the markup yourself, especially once you get into any more advanced than single-quote, single-answer posts... ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. One cannot land; the other shoots friendlies. You are a Goon. ❧ ❧
schurem Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Yeah, knowing shorthand for bold and italics would be useless nice. I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL

Dragon1-1 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 This should be moved to site issues, but yeah. Making multiquote posts in IPS is an exercise in frustration, and you can't even bypass the horrible WYSIWG editor because it doesn't use markup. I admit, I'm not fond of walls of text posts which take up the entire screen, but sometimes this funcitonality is needed. The old forum had very good multiquote functionality, but the morons who made IPS apparently didn't think that sort of thing mattered.

Ctrl + B / I / U do work But those seem to be the only ones. Well, when trying to save a post (anyone ever had a crash or something when writing up a wall of text?), a markup version would definately be useful, since you could just paste the thing back in with all the stuff. Now I can't use Notepad++ anymore to save my posts before dropping them here if they're a bit bigger than this one. BTW if I'd just take any of the posts within here and scale my screen image to 32:9, none of them would fit the screen at all - so that's all relative. Just sayin', cos I know some people are crazy enough to have such weird monitors.
schurem Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Many forums I post on let me do **bold** and *italics* Like that <- I like doing it that way, I also love this 2020's thing of the forum just eating video content, links and pix when dragged into it. That is teh l337. I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL
