peeter Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) Hello, I have an idea for the newsletter to let people more informed on the differents topics you're working on. You talk about the damage model, VOIP, Cloud etc but we see it once in a while and have no info for month. Would be great to have at the end of each newsletter a list of topic with % of completion like this: Core game news Cloud system : 60 % [working on sync] Multicrew : 90 % [beta testing] > exept release november update New 3D asset : BMP done [infantry and humvee are next] VoiP: [On Hold] etc. Just my 2 cent here Edited December 4, 2020 by peeter 1
Snappy Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) Hi, excellent idea. Keeping in mind though, that percentages are not always proportional to time required, i.e.even if something is 95%complete, the last 5% could be much more difficult or time-intensive than the previous 25 or 50%. But it , especially in regards to long overdue and awaited core features, like A.I. , A.I FM, ATC, WX, dynamic campaign, etc.. that very often feel like frozen in developement or put on hold , it would be very interesting to see where they actually are completion-wise and at which rate indivial items progress. Unfortunaly I highly doubt for various reasons, that ED will actually be that forthcoming with info. Kind regards, Snappy Edited December 4, 2020 by Snappy

True, but it's just to have a rough idea of what is coming and what is going on ! Edited December 4, 2020 by peeter
Eldur Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Some nice ideas, and I just want to see the header image within the forum posts...
erniedaoage Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 For me it seems that the quality of the weekly newsletters has somehow dropped. For years i enjoyed reading the newsletters every friday but since a couple of months they seem just odd. I don't know i cannot see/read the passion anymore. But i think its quite subjective. Would be nice to know what features are actually in internal testing and stuff like that, but with that info comes a lot of discussion because its already 95% finished. :) Specs:WIN10, I7-4790K, ASUS RANGER VII, 16GB G.Skill DDR3, GEFORCE 1080, NVME SSD, SSD, VIRPIL T-50 THROTTLE, K-51 COLLECTIVE, FFBBeast Virpil Alpha+VFX Grip, MFG CROSSWINDS, JETPAD, RIFT S Modules:A10C, AH-64D, AJS-37, AV8B, BF109K4, CA, F/A18C, F14, F5EII, F86F, FC3, FW190A8, FW190D9, KA50, L39, M2000C, MI8TV2, MI24P, MIG15BIS, MIG19P, MIG21BIS, MIRAGE F1, P51D, SA342, SPITFIRE, UH1H, NORMANDY, PERSIAN GULF, CHANNEL, SYRIA Thrustmaster TWCS Afterburner Detent https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=223776 My Frankenwinder ffb2 stick https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/254426-finally-my-frankenwinder-comes-alive/

Very little real substance of information lately , some typical screenshots and the ever returning theme of "working on highly awaited feature xyz ". The entire thing could be dropped or intervals increased until some real information about core items becomes available. But as you correctly said, its subjective and I guess some people like seeing updated 3dmodels . Regards, Snappy Edited December 4, 2020 by Snappy
peeter Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 People don't know all the ED's core project on the background. It could show the community that they're working on a several stuff behind the curtains ans keep them informed as well
