New DCS user just saying hello and sharing first VR experience. :)

Hello everyone I just got DCS installed this week and followed the optimization tutorial on youtube. Settings the same with the Textures on High:

I also recently acquired the HP Reverb G2 VR headset and fired it up with resolution at 100% (3840x2160) using the SU-25 in free flight mode. No addons yet.

I am getting an average of 83-90 fps in the VR. GPU at 95-100% CPU at 38-50% (But one core running between 75-100%).

My specs are:

Intel i5-9600k OC@4.8Ghz

Asus ROG Strix Z-390

Nvidia RTX3080 Founders Edition

Tforce 32gb ram @ 3200Mhz CL16

Windows 10: Samsung 970 Evo 500gb

Flight Sim: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500gb

Corsair H150i

Corsair AX850

The experience is stutter free, and the graphics in the cockpit is really nice. I am looking forward to using this more.

What would you guys recommend to get for my first addon for this sim?

Thanks for reading!

Step 1 : Get Mustang's Caucasus texture mod

Step 2 : Get Taz's fix for the Caucasus trees

These two things will vastly improve the visual quality of the base, free map, helping you get a lot more use out of it.

Step 3 : Get a helicopter. Any helicopter will do, but I introduced my brother to DCS (and VR) with the Ka-50.

VR in a plane is great fun, but generally planes are up high and you don't get the same sense of life you do hovering behind a treeline, between two houses over somebody's front yard, while popping off ATGMs through the upper branches, zipping 10 feet off the ground below the treetops when you reposition. You can experience DCS in anything... but if you want to experience VR... REALLY experience it... get a helicopter.
