Airmage Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) Hi, been having this problem: sky(and ground shaddow i think) starts flickering black when an object starts flaming or splashes into the ground. The problem does NOT disappear with driver update. The problem did not appear after complete driver clean and reinstall on first gameplay. On next rounds its back. Problem did not go away after deleting fxo and metashaders2 files. The game does not start after turning off Shader Cache in AMD control panel. Pls help. Specs: Ryzen 7 2700, 32 gb ddr4@2666, m.2 nvme, AMD RX 580 8gb. GPU driver version 19.4.3 (best all in all fps and sync). Edited December 8, 2020 by Airmage
Flappie Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) Hi. Does it look like this? (flash at 0:26) Edited December 8, 2020 by Flappie ---
Flappie Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Try emptying this folder : "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AMD\DxCache". It contains AMD shader cache. It will be rebuilt as long as you don't turn off Shader Cache in AMD options. ---
Airmage Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 So what i've seen so far is that, with a fresh shader cache deleted, game runs ok with shader cache option set to "AMD optimised". Shader cache OFF - does not start game; shader cache ON - shitty sync. However, if i dare to play another game, and then play DCS again, problem is back. Looks like a shader conflict?
Flappie Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) I've just noticed the bug described above (orange veil) is appearing black for AMD graphcs card. Therefore, you're probably having the exact same issue. You concur? I think you're the first one to notice this shader interaction with other games. Does any other game mess with DCS shaders? Airmage Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 Yes i think it's the same issue and other games' shader cache do affect DCS. It's a relatively new issue btw, 6 months ago i think it did not exist.
Flappie Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Thank you for your feedback. I'll share your discovery in the initial thread. ---
lipas70 Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 This is the same problem. W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor

Flappie Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 (edited) Hi Peter. We have no clue. Some have this glitch, some don't (I don't), and we don't know how to prevent this. All we know is this is linked to WWII modules. ED devs are working on it but we have no news so far. To get the latest news, read this thread. Edited December 22, 2020 by Flappie ---
