Oban Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 A very strange graphic's glitch, my custom textures for the AI F15E have all suddenly stopped working, the Tail BORT Number is now displaying a "missing texture" on every single air frame that was using it, everything was working perfect when entering the Tail codes in the Mission Editor, but now everything is fucked up... It worked perfect as I had taken hundreds of screen shots, and then all of a sudden ( within the past 7-10 days) something changed... Anyone any ideas, as this has pissed me off massively AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
Flappie Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Hi, do you mind to share your custom texture so I can try to reproduce your issue? (you can send it through PM, I promise I won't share it) ---

(you can send it through PM, I promise I won't share it) They're all available on the downloads section mate, they were all fine and then suddenly they stopped.. I can't figure out what's changed, as I've not touched the files since I released them.. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313535/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313678/ Edited December 11, 2020 by Oban AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
Flappie Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 OK, can you please give me an example of borked livery so I don't have to download and test each of them? ---

The issue is the file that allows the Tail/Fin number to be entered in the Mission Editor, it's now showing up as green, which means the texture is missing. It's not missing, it's there in the folder, and reflects this in the description.lua Both the downloads are experiencing the same issue... NOTHING has been touched on my end since I uploaded them.. There hasn't been a game update either since I released them. The files I use are exactly the same as the ones I uploaded, nothing different... so I'm baffled as to what's changed/happened in the past week or so ? Oban Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 Same air frames today... nothing changed in the files within a week, nothing was edited/touched at all. AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
Flappie Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 OK, I will try to reproduce this bug. In the meantime, can you please attach your dcs.log file showing a test session with this livery? Maybe it contains a message that will guide us to the cause of this. You'll find it under "C:\Users\your-name \Saved Games\DCS..\Logs\". ---

Oban Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 The tail number is picked in the editor, but the texture is "missing" on the model, but it's in the folder, like all the other numbers.. weird as !! Flappie Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 The error is here: 2020-12-11 12:48:06.090 ERROR_ONCE DX11BACKEND: texture 'f15_numbersb' not found. Asked from 'GRAPHICSCORE' I see you have quite a few mods installed (Su-57, Rafale and Eurofighter among others). Have you installed a mod recently? (I haven't tested yet on my side by the way) ---

(I haven't tested yet on my side by the way) Interesting , yeah, I added a couple of Naval assets to the technical assets folder. I never had the issue a week ago, and there's no reference to 'f15_numbersb' in any of the description.lua's ***I did install an Pack through JGSME though F15C/E related, and removed it this morning, will re rerun and check*** *** With this enabled, the numbers show!! *** I'll remove the technical assets to see if there's a conflict, none of the others are actually active.. and were there before Edited December 11, 2020 by Oban AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
Oban Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 @FlappieYou can close this topic now ... I found and rectified the issue, I was also running a texture pack through JGSME, which is where the "numbers texture was located" in a temp textures folder, so the F15E description.lua's were reading from there, and I disabled that mod this morning when running a repair. I've now copied the texture into the air frames folders so that it reads the argument : {"f15e_numbers", 0 ,"f15_numbersb",false}; from the folder itself. This seems to has resolved the issue, and anyone who didn't run that same mod, would have had the same texture issue. Thanks for your patience AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD RTX 4070 8GB Windows 11 64 bit
