Callsign Munch Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Attached is a video. I’m sure someone else can post a track file as it’s common issue for me and other guys in my Wing. It’s almost like the FCS is trying to dampen out some Dutch Roll tendencies or something but over correcting. External view the rudder is flailing wildly despite neutral controls. Only thing I could find was that the real thing at a Dutch roll tendency above 35 degrees AOA prior to v10.7 of the FCS, but you can see it’s happening when I unload. https://clips.twitch.tv/BadVenomousJellyfishSeemsGood [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ATPL - B737 - Class I Instructor Rating - Seaplane
wilbur81 Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Has happened to me plenty of times since day one of the Hornet.... but I would say that it has gotten better in the past year or so. But maybe I'm just better at flying it? i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
Razor18 Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Did you check your rudder axis assignment? Sometimes some other axis gets it assigned to without you doing anything. Some updates used to do that earlier.
maxTRX Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 This has been reported numerous times. Happens at low weight and mid speed range. It did get a 'little' better recently, I think. Here's my clip from over a year ago. 1
