Loaded the most recent update this evening and went for a few flights in p51... All worked ok but noticed the whistle or gun port whistle sound gone.... Is there a known way to get it back ? Typlically get it at bottom of dive and turns at times.

I can't confirm to be honest. Checked the Caucasus Free Flight missions for both P-51D and TF-51D yesterday and the port whistle is there allright. Clearly audible at high AoA, both in cockpit and external cameras (though more quiet in the former case). I don't use "hear like in helmet" option. Whether is was a bit louder in previous versions I'm not sure. Seems to be the same to me, really.

I will try again... Maybe something loaded killed mine... What version of dcs are you on ?

Right now there is only one version for ordinary user, Stable version is the same as open beta version

Well, for the heck of it I popped open my open beta version, let it do the updates etc , jumped in stang.... screams away...whistle where expected and sounded perfect... Go to stable version, nope.... So I tried copying a bunch of files over mustang related, lua, liveries etc etc... no luck at all... Im sure there is a file or something that needs copied unless im just stuck with this one as sound files are locked up.

Run a repair and cleanup command on your stable install then, because it's corrupted somehow. Copying over random stuff between installs usually doesn't work either - can only cause more harm than good.

As mentioned above, both Stable and Open Beta versions of DCS are currently patched up to exactly the same build number and thus should work the same way.

The only things separate for each of them are their Saved Games folders on your system drive. If repair and cleanup doesn't help (these commands do not affect Saved Games location), you will know that culprit of the problem is hidden somewhere in the Saved Games/DCS folder of your Stable version (some mod leftovers probably?).

Had a chance to run clean and repair...did manual and skatezillla one... Verdict... The Whistle/ScreAm is back... I then went and readded a few of my mods back in and tested... seems Edge540 breaks it... Ill leave it out and now adding liveries back in... Will test when done but flew 3 times and turned it up !!!
