ColinM9991 Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Hi, I've had this issue, only when I host an in-game multiplayer server, for sometime now with a single mission and I can't figure out exactly what is causing the issue. When hosting the Hoggit TNN Training mission locally I punch in a TACAN code to a tanker which leads me in a direction that the tanker has previously passed, as if the heading is delayed. When I look on the map I see the tankers actual position which is further North. When I reach the TACAN position also it just rotates around behind me as if I've passed the beacon. I've looked high and low (altitude) and see no ships or other aircraft that could possibly be conflicting. I've checked the mission file to ensure no TACAN codes are conflicting and I have also checked the LUA files to ensure there are no potential issues there. I've also disabled all DLC and enabled only the UH-1H and F-18. I'm on the Stable branch. I have noticed that TACAN works fine when a friend hosts the mission and I join his server. Has anybody else experienced this? I have searched Google months ago and now and come up with little to nothing. I can't think of anywhere else to post this. I have posted this on the GitLab for Hoggit but they haven't experienced this issue with their mission when testing locally. I've attached a track file which shows what I mean, you can open the map when I'm close to the TACAN beacon to see that the tanker is ahead of me. server-20210101-203330.trk Edited January 1, 2021 by ColinM9991
Flappie Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 (edited) Hi. I've played your track and I saw the HUD sign you were following in your track, but I don't have a clue what it was (at this point, I had never flown the Hornet before). I then renamed the track as a .miz so I could give it a go. My only modification to the mission was to start in mid-air. Thanks to Crash Laobi's excellent TACAN tutorial, I was able to locate the 23Y beacon using the HSI page of the MFD. It led me straight to the tanker. Track attached. I booted up the mission and stepped away from my PC for a period of time. On returning I discovered that the TACAN had eventually caught up. It worked fine when my friend hosted because he'd been hosting for some time also which gave the tankers enough time to complete a full lap of their waypoint targets. I'm speculating that the tankers had to cycle around the waypoints once for everything to get settled. Thank you for your response though, I appreciate your assistance and time.
