Hi Guys,

I like some others recently have had stuttering looking around with the Track IR. At first I thought it was a game issue as the problem would come and go and sometimes be worse than others. At first I thought it might be something to do with an update in DCS itself. For me it wasn't, it is a problem with my Track IR 5. Things I tried at first,,,

Check Windows Updates,

GPU Scheduler, On/Off,

Windows Game Mode, On/Off,

Check Nvidia drivers and settings,

Nothing made a bit of difference and what made it worse was the problem would come and go. Eventually I got fed up and decided to have a fly around in a popular brand of WW2 Sim. Soon realising that had exactly the same problem. After much internet searching I found some old posts back from 2010 on another flight sim forum reporting exactly the same problem. I did everything suggested and so far it seems to have solved the problem. They are as follows,

Using task manager I set the Track IR priority to High

Disabled any power saving features for USB's. In Device Manager and Power Settings.

Plugged the Track IR into a powered USB hub

I don't know which of these had the biggest impact but after doing all three I am back to smooth viewing in both flight sims. I also don't know the cause as I have updated my X570 bios ready for my new 5600x. Windows also recently updated to Win 10 Pro version 20H2. My MSi X570 motherboard has always been a bit sketchy on the USB front. My X56 hotas can only use the two ports in the middle of the IO. If I use any others I get ghosting on the throttle.

Along the way I discovered setting Latency to "Ultra" in NV setting improved both sims.

Hope this helps as I have been pulling my hair out for a couple of weeks with this one.

Good solution.

I'd add doing the same for every other control. Although ED has implemented the Rescan devices feature, which helps, it is always good to not let the computer shutdown your devices for saving energy.

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:
