Hello all,

toan has been helping me fix the take off and landing issues.

We are very close to having take off and landing for up to 16 Rafale/Etendard. Or you can do 15 with an E-2. Basically enough for 1 full squadron with E-2 support. All Rafale M versions will work AA, AG and Tanker. I'll post stuff here soon as well. There are early (outdated) files and pics in the Rafale thread currently if you want to see what we're up to.

That is great. I will add the carrier stuff to the AS version tonight, do a little more testing and get stuff posted. It looks like toan did not find any major issues with my last update 🙂

Update CDG V1 is hopefully done and I'm making good progress with the landing/parking on Clem, but it's going a bit slower than I hoped.

I'm unsure how it will work with multiplayer as that's not something I ever done. I'm kind  of new to DCS. But I would like to make that happen is possible. Right now it's more for "combined arms" style play with ships . Setting up large naval battles was the idea behind it. 🙂

With a multiplayer mission, I managed to get a plane on the deck, but it needs to be lined up ready for launch.
On the mission if I put the plane in the parking lot, the engines on or off, we do not enter the plane, nor in the game, we see the carrier below.
With single mission, no problem it works

Thanks for the update. You are using the original MOD correct? I have not released and any files except for an early version in the Rafale thread. If I recall correctly the original mod worked great for single player and launching from the catapults, but the did not work for AI take off from the ramp. If I'm understanding things correctly it would make sense that player aircraft could not use the ramp start. Hopefully the fix that allows AI aircraft to start from the ramp will work for player aircraft as well. But I'm learning as I go, lol. But if the original mod works at all for multiplayer then there is hope🙂 I will post the updated carrier/aircraft files here later tonight or tomorrow hopefully. If you did find the updated early files from the other thread and tried those then....... This might be bad news for multiplayer. Thanks again for the info

In an earlier post I mistakenly said the French Navy had operated the C-5 from the Charles de Gaulle when I meant to say C2a greyhound.

This is clearly a bad idea, but to my surprise the darn thing took off just fine.🤣

Hello,
I am French and I may have trouble making myself understood in the language of Shakespeare.
I don't use the planes as an AI, but as a client or player for a multiplayer mission.
When I launch the mission without going through the server, no problem, everything works fine, no matter where you place the plane on the carrier: aligned on the catapult, in the parking lot, engine off or on. each time the pilot is placed on the seat in the plane.
On the other hand, when I launch the same mission via the dedicated server or personal hosting, if the plane is placed by the mission on a parking lot, I do not enter the plane, I am in the air in spectator mode, I see the carrier below but no plane above. If the plane is placed by the mission on the ready catapult, then we enter the plane.
I have the impression that in server mode, the car parks of the Charles De Gaulle carrier are not recognized.
When I replace the CDG carrier with the Stennis, I don't have this problem.

I now have ready for release the first update in my Naval Aviation Update Mod version NAUM v1.F "the Marine Nationale", RN-91 Charles De Gaulle and Rafale M. Now updated for use with AI aircraft allowing up 16 aircraft on the deck for take off and landing. The ability to fly the Rafale as in the original mod(s) should not be affected. You must already have the original Cuesta Brothers Team Charles De Gaulle and aircraft mods installed. (Rafale/Etentard)

Update to the Charles De Gaulle include:

Name changed in ME to FS-R-91 Charles De Gaulle.  Map uses short display name R-91 during mission.

Two catapults and up to 14 spawn points for correct French and US Navy aircraft including;

Rafale, Super Etentard, E-2 Hawkeye, C2a greyhound, F/A-18C (ED) E/F/G (cjs superbug),VSN F-35C (it might someday). Other aircraft may work but have not been tested. Best results with Rafale and Etentard.

8 Helicopter spawns for take off, not all tested for landing but a t least one or work.

Mixed Helicopter and Aircraft take off possible. Mixed landing a very bad idea.

Aircraft-catapult alignment not always correct from taxi varies by starting position. Worse for larger aircraft like E-2

Mixed aircraft types from ramp start may cause issues. Some combination will work. I’m sure some will not

Launching and landing large amount of aircraft at the same time work BUT must be planned in the ME following some basic guidelines In the Read ME file

Taxi routes and take off order are not perfect but the best I could get working currently. (improvements planned)

 

Clemnceau/Etentard should be done soon as well

Le crochet roue avant-catapulte ne fonctionne pas correctement mais se ferme

L'alignement avion-catapulte pas toujours correct depuis le roulage varie selon la position de départ. Pire pour les gros avions comme le E-2

Des types d'avions mixtes depuis le démarrage de la rampe peuvent causer des problèmes. Une combinaison fonctionnera. Je suis sûr que certains ne le feront pas

Le lancement et l'atterrissage d'un grand nombre d'avions en même temps fonctionnent MAIS doivent être planifiés dans le ME en suivant certaines directives de base Dans le fichier Read ME

Les itinéraires de taxi et l'ordre de décollage ne sont pas parfaits, mais le mieux que je puisse faire actuellement. (améliorations prévues)


Clemnceau/Etentard devrait être fait bientôt aussi

Hello,
Thanks for all that work.
With the new carrier file, it is now possible to fly in multiplayer but only with hosting on your PC.

With a dedicated server, I haven't found the solution, I think you have to put the Charle de Gaulle file on the online server.
I tested by putting it in the saved game and directly in the DCS mods/tech, on the online server, nothing to do.
In the first case the mission crashes and in the second, the Charles de Gaulle does not appear.

Just to add a correction the Scalp ATG was released with the Rafale by the Cuesta's, I only made some minor modifications on LUA'S (like adding the Laser equipment command and some minor tweaks on the data's).

ATM modifications are only on the HP's and the ScalpAtg's datas. Next weapons will be seen later.

Files have been transmited with those latest modification to Beldin to validate.

Hello all, I added the fixed Rafale Tanker lua to the CDG update post.  Looks like I forgot to post it, but it turns out I had broken it somehow, but it's fix now🙂. I also adjusted the the basket position. Hook up with Rafale, F-18C and F-35B look good for the most part. The probe will poke out of the basket nozzles for a few secs on some planes but mostly it stays hooked up well. I've not tested with anything else. Not sure why I posted two version of the M??? I need to look at those files and remove one of them. Anyways, Happy flying

Sorry about that. I took a quick look at the code and both should work fine as I think the only difference is one had more AG weapons fitted for the AI (and maybe human) to use. Did not have time to boot up the game as look at them there. I left that one and took down the other. Let me know if you have any major issues with it. I think I posted the 2 Ms by mistake when one was supposed to be the Tanker. The correct tanker version should be posted and working as well. Sorry I got a little side tracked with version 2 of Clemenceau. I'll be posting that soon as well as an updated Raflae with meteors that AI can fire at the correct range.(will require the JAS39 Gripen Mod)  The Ai does not seem to like firing the current meteors at the correct range

There is a "cleaner" version. in the shaped folder. I can't recall what it's named. Not sure if you are using that. But it still has some crew and the Rafale on the elevator. I've seen a totally clean deck online I think but I never found the edm for it????

How a bout a link to the version without static items on the deck already.  Planes land and can't park because of all the clutter on the flight deck.  There should be a way to modify the .lua to remove all that junk.

after i installed CDG and clemenceau package all  US supeercarrier( NIMITZ, TRUMAN, WHASHINGTON) disappear !!!!!!!!! WHY it happens ???

i cancelled the package but ntill no more supercarrier show on mission editor menu

 

i also i8nstalled rafale mod but i do not think is correlated....
