Nealius Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Something's weird with my Warbirds: K4, A8, Spitfire, and Mustang mainly. In the Mission Editor and Mission Planner I have a lot more liveries than what is in either the main DCS directory (WWII units/Bazar/CoreMods) or my Saved Games. Upon browsing my directories, these liveries do not exist anywhere yet they somehow appear in the game. What's going on here?
Ala13_ManOWar Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) Liveries aren't necessarily in the main install liveries directory, not all of them. Many are in Liveries folder in Saved Games since quite a time now, the same as Mods folder, to prevent people from messing in the actual install directory. Also, inside the install folder (not to be messed with) are some folders with textures which may have in some cases textures you may need for some skins, so you can have them there to edit and then to be included inside your skin folder (so saved games folder), etc. There (sometimes in a compressed file) may be either some skins aside from the main install skins folder. Anyhow, if you don't need to use them, for a skin you're painting for instance or the like, it's better not to mess with the main install files. S! Art-J Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) ^ No stock livery will be found in Saved Games unless the user moves it there for whatever reason. @Nealius - as for the K4, A8 and Mustang, I can see all default ones are stored in Bazar/Liveries location. Spit seems to be an odd exception - Coremods/WWII Units/Spit../Liveries/Spit... etc. It's always been a bit of a mess in general. Nealius Posted January 29, 2021 Author Posted January 29, 2021 It's not the defaults, but rather add-on liveries like Reflected's (awesome) P-51 livery pack. I do not have it installed ANYWHERE on my machine yet they appear in the Mission Editor and Mission Planner. I do not see them in the default Bazar/Liveries location, so I don't understand how they are enabled when I don't actually have them.
