Even after deleting the files in \DCS.openbeta\fxo and \metashaders2 and rebooting, I still get a full black (when black-hot) or full white (when white-hot) TGP screen when there's smoke on the ground.

Any help, please?

Yes, give up on DCS and come back in 2023. Maybe ED will fix this after we give them another two years.

Some other suggestions, but none of them working 100% of the time, are here.

This bug is present since january 2018. Eagle Dynamics doesnt know how to fix it lol.

They say a new TGP/IR renderer will be made, but no date was given and is probably years away.

Personally i use a testing trackfile that I launch after starting DCS. If rendering fails, I delete fxo and metashaders, restart the game and repeat. If it doesnt fail, TGP is gonna work correctly for the rest of the DCS run. So far this process works well.

Thanks, both. It's a shame to hear it's been present for a couple of years.

FWIW I've created a batch file that deletes the shaders but there's still a chance when the shaders are first created I get the corrupt smoke.
