More likely hitting NWS with Link16 and stepping to a surveillance track, which is normal.  Maltese cross on the radar says it should not be transmitting.  If you get it with Link16 off, that would be different.  Although it should not say RDR in the HUD as a contributor

This is not Link16 feed symbology. It's RWS with AACQ cross clearly visible. Yes, it was the pinky switch that caused the step on the RWS page. It's a bug. Jeez, if the devs really need a track for this I can probably set some simple hop later on.

You cant lock/select a datalink track. You can only lock what your own radar sees.

Hi all,

if we have a track replay showing this it would be great, at the moment I am unable to reproduce.

I finally got around to setting up a quick flight.  The only objects in the mission were:  1 Hornet (me) and 3 enemy transports.

My D/L and TACAN were on but there were no donors.

I managed to reproduce the problem but I still can't precisely narrow it down. Well, I didn't spend too much time on it.

I can say one thing for sure.  The issue is caused by AACQ cross persisting on the RWS display, even with 'SIL' boxed.

At first I thought it only happened when I toggled L&S to DT2 but now I'm not that sure. I'll do some more testing when I have time.

The track shows my Hornet approaching the cargo jets and trying to maintain lock. Once the lock was steady, I tried switching between TWS and back to RWS and changing L&S.

The first try to 'SIL' the radar was successful. All tracks disappeared. The second time (in RWS) the AACQ cross remained and I could designate it as L&S at will, with 'SIL' on.

Weight on wheels made no difference. Pressing the pinky button turned the AACQ into L&S... even in Nav mode if I remember correctly.
