GTengineer Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, I just got TrackIR4 pro yesterday and I have been playing around with it but I have not been able to enable the zoom feature to work, despite having the Z-axis enabled in the TrackIR manager. I have all my LOMAC (1.02) settings in realistic with no external views but zoom still works inside the cockpit if I use the keyboard so I know it is indeed enabled. Also are there TrackIR LOMAC profiles out there to download? I have been messing around for a long time but I can't seem to get any sensitivity that feels natural. Thanks! The ability to zoom, the Z axis, does not work with version 1.02. This is only available with 1.1 onward -- in other words Flaming Cliffs only. Here's a list of flight sims from NaturalPoint and their TrackIR functionality: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03-enhanced-games/enhanced-games-flight.html EDIT: I have my profile that I'm willing to share. I don't have separate profiles for every sim. I just use a one size fits all one that works well for me. Let me know and I can send you a link to it! Edited July 30, 2008 by RedTiger 1
GTengineer Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 Ahh, cool well I should have my copy of Flaming Cliffs soon anyway (it's in the mail). I would gladly try out your profile if you are willing to share it. I will send you a pm with my email if you need it. Many Thanks! The ability to zoom, the Z axis, does not work with version 1.02. ScEBlack1 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Dont forget to go into your config BEFORE each time you fly and delete the trackir file there and the one in the INPUTS folder
Diko Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Dont forget to go into your config BEFORE each time you fly and delete the trackir file there and the one in the INPUTS folder Why should he? Only if TrackIr doesn´t work in Lomac from time to time it has to be done...not everytime for each flight. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
GTengineer Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 Good to know but it has been working fine so far though, except for the zoom which has been explained. Q6600 @ 3.8GHz, 8GB DDR2-1000, 8800GT 512MB, Vista x64, TrackIR4

159th_Viper Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Enables you to Zoom-View to the sides as well as front by moving your head forward a wee bit. With TrueView enabled you lose the ability to Zoom to the side with relative ease, if at all - at least on my side that is :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? S77th-konkussion Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Dont forget to go into your config BEFORE each time you fly and delete the trackir file there and the one in the INPUTS folder This is only necessary if you go into the LOMAC options menu. I'm not certain if you must actually make a change to trigger the issue or not. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

I'll have to check on that.

Ironhand Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 This is only necessary if you go into the LOMAC options menu. I'm not certain if you must actually make a change to trigger the issue or not. I think you have to make a change for the TrackIR files to be corrupted. Also, it's my understanding that, if you make changes with TrackIR running, no corruption of the TrackIR files occurs. HMMMMMM I'll have to try that. That would be good news. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
RedTiger Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Well, I turned off TrueView and I like it. Being able to zoom while looking out the side of the cockpit is pretty cool.
GTengineer Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 RedTiger, I got a chance to try out your profile last night MUCH BETTER! I got used to it really quickly. Q6600 @ 3.8GHz, 8GB DDR2-1000, 8800GT 512MB, Vista x64, TrackIR4
RedTiger Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 RedTiger, I got a chance to try out your profile last night MUCH BETTER! I got used to it really quickly. Good to hear! You can also compare my profile to one of your own or perhaps one of the stock ones to see what changes I've made. I can tell you that I just changed one axis and then copied it to all the others.
GTengineer Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) Well, I finally got Flaming Cliffs and installed it and to no surprise TrackIR is not working. I deleted the TrackIR file from the config folder and still no go. Anyone? P.S. It is working fine in other games (IL2) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EDIT: Nevermind got it. Forgot to delete the TrackIR file in Input folder. Edited August 5, 2008 by GTengineer Q6600 @ 3.8GHz, 8GB DDR2-1000, 8800GT 512MB, Vista x64, TrackIR4
