Why do multiplayer tracks never replay correctly. I mainly fly warbirds and it seems no matter the plane the track never records correctly. I am not speeding up or passing. I just let them replay and eventually my plane will no longer register in the correct location.  Sometimes you are shooting at nothing or someone is shooting over you but your plane is getting riddles with bullets. I have actually had my plane crazy on replay because it is registering lower than I was when I was actually flying. Ruins many good opportunities for videos.

Against other players or against AI?

Both.

tracks of any kind have been broken for years

I figured they would have fixed it over the years.

I get the same  Problems, I'm new to all this wonderful game. I came back after many years of not playing, last was Flightsim (MSFS 2001). I've found this game 2-3 months ago and got hooked, fascinated by the quality of it's graphics. I too get the same issue, found over this forum that it's been there like forever.

I've been practicing landing at airport, but mostly on carriers and find it awkward to leave it that way for that long. I personally would appreciate to see  me on final (groove) landing at the right place, I could see what I do wrong, what I can get better at.

Most of the times (if not always) particularly at the end of the flight I either land on the grass or water, when in fact I was on the runway...disappointing. Like Groovy Jerry no matter the F-14 model (skin) and with or without acceleration of view.

Are you talking about server tracks or client tracks? Client tracks record what you do while flying the airplane, and when you replay the track they reapply what you did but obviously that's always a bit off and the offness is cumulative. Client tracks are recorded when you play single player, and they are also what you see in the multiplayer folder on your computer.

Server tracks are recorded by a multiplayer server. You will have to set up your dedicated server and run it - just download the dedicated server from the DCS download page. It will record what your plane did, not the inputs that you applied, so chances are it will replay correctly. You can also tell the server where you want it to write its tracks. Watch this if you want to learn more:

It's an awkward workaround compared to other sims but better than nothing if you want replayable tracks.

Had problems with this for years. Watched a replay the other day with a harrier landing on carrier but it never arrived ha ha.

Watched the video on this page and very interesting but why should you have to go to all that?
