Hi folks,

currently 8 Lysbombs have more drag than 16 Sprängbombs.

E.g. at ISA-25°C @0m MSL @max MIL thrust I can reach M0.75 with Lysbombs, and M0.81 with Sprängbombs.

Loadout: XT + 2 Rb24J plus the bombs in each config.

Here are the tracks:

Sounds strange to me, can this be true?

Thanks for any hint!

What is the weight of each load?

"Subsonic is below Mach 1, supersonic is up to Mach 5. Above Mach 5 is hypersonic. And reentry from space, well, that's like Mach a lot."

@MachalotAccording to the RC2 manual, LYSBOMB are 25% lighter.

Also according to the manual, the pylons used are the same for all kinds of M/71 ordinance:

I was thinking it could be caused by induced drag for a heavier load, but that's not the case.

Another possibility is the center of mass is shifted with 8 light vs 16 heavy bombs, which requires a different trim position. But that effect could go either way in terms of drag.

Are the canard flaps in the same position for both loads at the same speed?
