Goofeyfoot Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 I get my VR mic and everything going first. Then I turn on Vaicom. That red mic light in the right corner is always on. All the Windows settings are set correctly for sound and work fine. Mic is working fine otherwise except in Vaicom. Is there a way to fix this?
dburne Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Try setting it as your default mic. MAXsenna Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Go into Voiceattack settings (the spanner) and on the Recognition tab check that your Windows speech recording device is set to your VR mic and on the Audio tab you can also try setting the Override default recording device to your VR headsetAnd if this doesn't work. You need to check which microphone is set up in MS Speech through the control panel.Hope you get it fixed!Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Mistermann Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 (edited) I had this issue earlier in the week. Turned out to be an Oculus issue. Not sure the technical reasons, but VA just wouldn't recognize my mic and had the red mic symbol ... I went into windows sound devices and disabled the oculus and rift mic input. Poof, VA working again. I found this fix on the VA forum BTW. I think it relates to Oculus updates - the developers are a bit naughty and just change your default input and output devices without asking - has caught me several times (including yesterday) Windows 11 Home ¦ Z790 AORUS Elite AX motherboard ¦ i7-13700K ¦ 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory @ 5600MHz ¦ Samsung 990 Pro 1TB SSD for OS, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD for DCS ¦ MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24GB ¦ Virpil WarBRD base with VFX grip, Thrustmaster A10c and F/A-18 grips ¦ VKB Gunfighter Mk4 and MCG Pro ¦ Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle ¦ VKB STECS Throttle ¦ Virpil TCS rotor base with Shark and AH-64D grips ¦ MFG Crosswinds ¦ Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box ¦ Pimax Crystal

The mic worked for everything except VA. Super frustrating. Thank goodness someone on the VA forums had the same problem and posted the solution. Not sure I would have thought to disable the oculus inputs w/o that guidance. +1 for the interwebs! 1 System Specs: Spoiler Callsign:Kandy Processor:13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K - RAM: 64GB - Video Card: NVIDIA RTX 4090 - Display: Pimax 8kx VR Headset - Accessories: VKB Gunfighter III MCG Ultimate, VKB STECS Standard, Thrustmaster TPR Pedals, Simshaker JetPad, Predator HOTAS Mounts, 3D Printed Flight Button Box Video Capture Software: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), Video Editing Software: PowerDirector 365 Into The Jungle Apache Campaign - Griffins Kiowa Campaign - Assassins Thrustmaster TWCS Mod
