upyr1 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Since ED is hoping for a new sim every few months or so would it be possible to have the DCS feature an auto update feature to download new free content or a subcription we're we might just pay a $100 or so and either have the new sims shipped out or downladable the day they come out for a period of time?

LazerPotatoe Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I see in the FAQ that new aircraft will be released approximately every 9 months after BlackShark. But there is nothing in the FAQ about subscriptions or automatic updating. I would also like to know if ED have considered this. Regards, LP modules: F5-E / A4-E / A-10A / AJS-37 / SA-342 / UH-1H / Ka-50 / Mi-8 / CA would buy: OH-58 /AH-64A / AH-1 / Sepecat Jaguar / F-111
Yellonet Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 When the autoupdate only activates once a year, what's the point? I kid I kid! Almost. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
CAT_101st Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I belive DCS is striving for a no update till next relese. They will have some where to download updates I am sure of it. You also have to think the the updates they are going to give out will be varry large and you may want to DL thim at your convince not theirs. LazerPotatoe Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Yeah, that's true -- Lockon only had a few, large updates. I wonder if this will change for DCS. And certainly I would want the option to _not_ auto-update, or to download but not install. (similar options as Windows Updates) LP modules: F5-E / A4-E / A-10A / AJS-37 / SA-342 / UH-1H / Ka-50 / Mi-8 / CA would buy: OH-58 /AH-64A / AH-1 / Sepecat Jaguar / F-111
