Why must the mission kneeboard file be written in caps?

I just noticed that when I add a kneeboard file to my mission, it is case sensitive.

(Same counts for the image folder inside it)

 

When these folder names are not in caps, the mission kneeboard doesn't work on my end.. Is that intended/normal?

Honestly, I've never added a kneeboard onto a Mission by hand, I always use the Kneeboard Builder for this, so I didn't knew if it was case sensitive or not:

 

 

(with the .miz button, on the lower right)
