iLOVEwindmills Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Per title, did it have similar features that the F18 has now? Like being able to ground designate, mark datalink contacts etc. Planned features mentions, "Integration of the JHMCS with the HARM Targeting System (HTS), Link 16, and AIFF" It seems to imply the same features + some extra. Does anyone know specifically what functionalities these will bring into the F16? Like for instance how the HTS links with the HMCS?
SparxOne Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Those are features i actually can't wait to see coming up ! The full capability that the JHMCS brings in the 16 ! Nothing like being able to see or designate your targets via the helmet. Something close to what the A-10 currently has would be insane, but i think i've read somewhere that won't happen as the A-10 features are much more advanced than the 16 they are modelling here

Bunny Clark Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 The Hornet and Viper in-game are both using the same helmet mounted display: JHMCS. They will have slightly different features based on the way the display is integrated with each aircraft's avionics, and obviously each is slightly different in appearance to mimic the existing display language of the HUD. But otherwise, they're the same. I think, every feature currently in the Hornet's HMD should also come to the Viper, except probably the RWR display in the HMD, as the Hornet's RWR is already integrated into the HUD while the Viper's is not. The A-10C II is using the more advanced Scorpion HMD, which allows color symbiology and video overlay. JHMCS is not capable of that. 2 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign.
