Small shakings/vibrations during entry into clouds

Hi Everyone,

I think most of us have been already experienced during real flight that when an airplane enters into a cloud it starts shaking. I think it is caused by the different densities of the air and the clouds.

Anyway, it would be nice to see this effect during entry into the clouds.

Thank you

this isn't true,

I have had experience of completely smooth air entering the types of clouds which can be seen in DCS. Thinking that cloud=turbulent is a misconception which you shouldn't fall for (even though it's sometimes true).

Welcome to the forums BTW!

Depends on the clouds.  You aren't feeling a variation in air density; you're feeling the updrafts and downdrafts that are found in cumulus clouds.  Stratus - type clouds are typically glass smooth to fly through.

Basically, if the cloud is a flat layer with smooth edges, it'll be pretty smooth inside.  Clouds with sharp edges and extensive vertical development will have the bumps.
