Semi new user needs some help

Hello All,

 

First post on the forums sort of new to DCS......

 

Just a quick history:

 

I have started playing DCS on my own since end of 2019 and picking up several modules: Mirage2000,A10c,F14,F16,F18,P47,ka50..

 

(Maps: Persian gulf (Inc supercarrier),Channel,Syria.)

 

With some hardware ofc:

TM Warthog,track IR,TM mfd's

 

Lockdown gave me the right excuse to get everything i wanted

 

 

Mostly i fly with the A10c,F18 (no specialist but tried learning as many of the systems as i can) i also started to learn the F14.

 

Although I am having a good time on my own I would like to start flying / learning with somebody else. All my other game Buddies have no interest in DCS so I ended up here to see if somebody is interested to learn,fly and blow stuff up with me or has any other ideas.

 

I am a 42 year old father so not always so much time and my evening usually starts a bit late.

But I speak English quite well.

I don‘t have much experience in multiplayer and I‘m more into anything with rotors and props (though I have all the jets too).

Have you looked into the recruiting section?

A suggestion if you are pressed for time (and aren’t we all) is focus on one module at a time. Especially the modern aircraft. They are very complex. Also consider the state of development these are in. For example the F-18 and F-16 are basically the same as multi role 4th gen US fighters, yet the F-18 is much farther along in development. So you could focus on that now and leave the F-16 for later.

I wanted to try and find a wingman or a person with a similair problem to take things slowly, but maybe i will Just try to find a squadron. Just affraid its gonna be to demanding . All the procedures, Lingo, etc etc. And indeed there is never enough time...

Don't be afraid to ask around and try different squadrons. There are many new player friendly I heard.
