I reinstalled LOMAC after a long time and i begun doing the campaign for the first time ever. I havent done it before because at the time LOMAC lagged too much on my comp and i got used to falcon. Now i cant stop fly LOMAC, its so damn fun and looks amazing. :)

I got a problem though with the A-10 campaign, second mission. Maybe im just stupid, (probably) as im no super pilot but here goes:

Mission is about reach and take out a group of T-80's before they reach a town. In the mix is 2 mobile SAM's and 2 BRDM's. Also on the way towards my airbase is a single(!) BMP. I fly along the set steerpoints and take out the T80's plus the SAM's and the BRDM's. On RTB i also take out that BMP. So there is nothing alive when i come back to the airbase. Yet i get FAILED.

Please help. What am i missing? Its LOMAC v1.2 if that matters.

Alex

Just flew the mission: Engaged 2 Strelas forward of the T-80's, a Strela in the T-80 Convoy, another Strela between the T-80 convoy and the BMP convoy and the Shilka protecting the 3 BMP's.

Thereafter the 3 T-80's and the 3 BMP's dealt with.

RTB'd, landed after my Wingie (sent him back prior to Engagement as he is prone to exhibit idiotic and suicidal behaviour on this particular mission) and we both Taxi'd to parking area. I spooled down and exited.

Mission Success.

Now as above my numbers do not tally with yours - might that might be an issue?

If not - the best might be to post a track of your mission and we can have a further look thereat.

The mission goal in V1.02 (and what is needed for a "success" rating) is to destroy the two columns: 1) The (so-called) T-72 Platoon: T-80x3 plus Strela-1x1 and 2) The BMP Platoon: BMP-2x3 plus Shilka x 1. Nothing else should be necessary.

Like i said, i aint no super pilot and lazyness made me miss where i really needed to go lol. I attacked the first group of T80's on the way thinking those were the targets... I will study the briefings more seriously from now on. :D

On a side note, i baught a new copy of LO today as my old CD was very worn and hard to install. This new discovery of LO is so awesome to me (could never fly with full GFX - stuttering) and i decided to get FC as well. I think LO:FC will be good to have on the side to DCS:BS for those moments i want to fly a fast jet. At least until DCS releases some jets in the future. I went to HL last night, and the guys there told me FC is whats being used and vanilla LO is very rare. And seeing there were activity there the desicion to get FC was easy. So thanks to this community i discovered how super LO is. Thanks guys!

I know this post has been dead since Sept, but here are some hints.

You can view the mission goals while you are flying. Press the single quote key " ' ". This will show a % of what is completed. All goals should equal to 100% to complete. Of course I have beaten some mission with it at 75%.

While in A2G mode, your HUD will show your the location of your ground targets by using a small diamond with the target in the center. A diamond with an X through it means the target is not in the field of view in the HUD. You can cycle through the targets by pressing the tilde key " ~ ".

I hope this helps.

They can't get you if you fly high enough. Great fun though it is to fly at 50 feet in the weeds :D , sometimes the safer place to be is 15,000ft, if Strelas, Shilkas or similar is the only threat in your target area.

Remember that in Gulf War I, the Allied aircraft soon swapped to flying at medium levels for ground attack missions after a couple of days once the MiG and larger SAM threat was suppressed.

In addition Ironhand has an excellent little video on his FlankerTraining website called Strela Hunt, just scroll down the page a little on the link below:-

http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/supad.htm

While you are there, download and watch every other one of his movies too. I guarantee you will learn something useful from all of them, even the ones for aircraft you don't plan to fly.

There is no solution. Saved states was designed to allow folks to quit a mission halfway through, then come back to it at a later date and load it up again to complete it. Sadly it doesn't work, certainly not for me or for 99% of the folks on the Forum who have talked about it. Known problem, will never be fixed, the Devs have moved on long ago to the next projects.

But the lack of a functioning saved states doesnt force you to keep flying that mission to get to the next one.

Declassify the campaign in the Mission Editor and fly the campaign missions in any order you want (plus change skins, weapon loadout, etc). I use this method all the time to cherry pick the fun missions in a campaign and miss out the dull ones.

Go into Mission Editor, upper left of screen click on the open button, bottom right TYPE OF FILE select CAMPAIGN, navigate the folder structure to the campaign you want and select it. Bottom right click on MAP. Now you will see the 1st mission of your campaign.

Many missions and campaigns are classified with a password so that they cannot be easily/accidentally changed. The stock missions and campaigns that come with Lockon use the password EAGLE.

Top left click on EDIT, then DECLASSIFY, enter the password EAGLE. Now all the missions in the campaign should appear on the right hand side, so select the mission you want to fly. If you wish, you can select your aircraft, select PAYLOAD and pick different weapons / fuel load / skin.

If you have downloaded any of the excellent missions/campaigns designed by the Lockon community, then some may be classified. Either the briefing notes or the readme file may tell you the password. Some may not.

If not, then you can still get in by overwriting the password with your own. Use keystrokes rather than menu to do this.

Press "ctrl + left shift + C" then type in a password e.g. 1234.

Now press "ctrl + left shift + D" and enter your password e.g. 1234

NOTE that Lockon does not seem to remember the decassifying, so you may have to repeat it when you restart Lockon.
