Pocket Kings Posted May 7, 2021 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Interesting, all your *.crash logfiles end with something like: (DCS): AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance + 0xE40B76 Could you please change the power management setting of your AMD Catalyst suite and test again? 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SL8408 Posted May 7, 2021 Author Share Posted May 7, 2021 Im gonna be honest with you, I have no idea how to change the power management setting on my AMD Catalyst suite. actually I have no idea what a Catalyst suite even is. is there a good link of how to do this? Ive got a 1080ti, i7 7700k, and 32gb . but I dont think i have any AMD stuff on my computer. just Nvidia kit. Sorry if I sound like a total moron here Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Pocket Kings Posted May 7, 2021 Share Posted May 7, 2021 What? That's strange. Did you ever have an AMD card installed in this system? You don't even have an AMD CPU, which could've been an explanation. But using Intel and NVidia while your log clearly indicates the above mentioned is a surprise, to say the least. I've never understood this " AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance " messages in the crash logs but I can assure you it doesn't mean one is having AMD hardware in his PC. Pocket Kings Posted May 7, 2021 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Yes I saw it in the thread of -Markus-, he also has that message. Nevermind. Not to derail the thread here, but meaningful error messages are vital to bug fixing. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Flappie Posted May 7, 2021 Share Posted May 7, 2021 He's having the second mission loading crash. See: The crash dump starts right after the "DCS: Screen: mission_offline" message, The crash dump contains the "Graphics::Renderer::FreeUnusedResources + 0x20" function which can be seen in all logs of this thread. 2021-05-06 06:07:03.683 INFO VISUALIZER: Preload() finished 2021-05-06 06:07:03.691 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Tacview Flight Data Recorder 1.8.0 Loaded 2021-05-06 06:07:03.691 INFO TACVIEW.DLL: Config={bookmarkShortcut=0, clientTelemetryPassword="", compressionLevel=0, dataRecordingEnabled=1, debugModeEnabled=0, hostTelemetryPassword="", playbackDelay=600, profilingPeriod=600, realTimeTelemetryPort=42674, recordClientsSessionsEnabled=0, remoteControlPassword="", remoteControlPort=42675} 2021-05-06 06:07:03.691 INFO DCS: Screen: mission_offline 2021-05-06 06:07:03.692 INFO EDCORE: try to write dump information 2021-05-06 06:07:03.697 INFO EDCORE: # -------------- 20210506-060703 -------------- 2021-05-06 06:07:03.698 INFO EDCORE: DCS/2.7.0.5659 (x86_64; Windows NT 10.0.19042) 2021-05-06 06:07:03.698 INFO EDCORE: G:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\dx11backend.dll 2021-05-06 06:07:03.699 INFO EDCORE: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 849D2D13 00:00000000 2021-05-06 06:07:03.700 INFO EDCORE: SymInit: Symbol-SearchPath: '.;G:\DCS World OpenBeta;G:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\system32;SRV*C:\websymbols*https://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols;', symOptions: 528, UserName: 'Lawso' 2021-05-06 06:07:03.701 INFO EDCORE: OS-Version: 10.0.19042 () 0x300-0x1 2021-05-06 06:07:04.207 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000042D13 (dx11backend): createRenderer + 0x2AFA3 2021-05-06 06:07:04.208 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000042E82 (dx11backend): createRenderer + 0x2B112 2021-05-06 06:07:04.208 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000002DDC5 (NGModel): model::ModelMaterial::draw + 0x2595 2021-05-06 06:07:04.209 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000000315E0 (NGModel): model::ModelMaterial::draw + 0x5DB0 2021-05-06 06:07:04.209 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000034FAB (NGModel): model::ModelMaterial::draw + 0x977B 2021-05-06 06:07:04.210 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000020ED3 (NGModel): model::graph::GraphNodesFactory::bootstrap + 0x473 2021-05-06 06:07:04.210 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000037DC2 (NGModel): model::ModelMaterial::draw + 0xC592 2021-05-06 06:07:04.210 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000041F3D (NGModel): init_graphics_plugin + 0x2F6D 2021-05-06 06:07:04.210 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000042088 (NGModel): model::NGModelLods::~NGModelLods + 0x48 2021-05-06 06:07:04.210 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000004291E (NGModel): model::NGModelLods::~NGModelLods + 0x8DE 2021-05-06 06:07:04.211 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000036B73 (GraphicsVista): Graphics::Models::gc + 0x1B3 2021-05-06 06:07:04.211 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000032970 (GraphicsVista): Graphics::Renderer::FreeUnusedResources + 0x20 2021-05-06 06:07:04.211 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000801E54 (DCS): SW + 0x5114A4 2021-05-06 06:07:04.211 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007E9349 (DCS): SW + 0x4F8999 2021-05-06 06:07:04.211 INFO EDCORE: 0x000000000011786A (edCore): Common::FSM::sendOutputSymbol_ + 0x4A 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000116F02 (edCore): Common::FSM::enterToState_ + 0xC2 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000001176E9 (edCore): Common::FSM::onSymbol_ + 0x1A9 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007FF491 (DCS): SW + 0x50EAE1 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007D0234 (DCS): SW + 0x4DF884 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x00000000007D060D (DCS): SW + 0x4DFC5D 2021-05-06 06:07:04.212 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000001C38FBD (DCS): AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance + 0xE49FB9 2021-05-06 06:07:04.213 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000A071BE (DCS): SW + 0x71680E 2021-05-06 06:07:04.213 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000017034 (KERNEL32): BaseThreadInitThunk + 0x14 2021-05-06 06:07:04.213 INFO EDCORE: 0x0000000000052651 (ntdll): RtlUserThreadStart + 0x21 2021-05-06 06:07:04.382 INFO EDCORE: Minidump created. Flappie Posted May 7, 2021 Share Posted May 7, 2021 Just now, Pocket Kings said: Not to derail the thread here, but meaningful error messages are vital to bug fixing. I agree. DCS logs are full of mysterious small error messages (can't find this, can't find that) that have been there for years, and in the same time they lack of precision when the game is crashing. It's often easier to try all solutions that worked beforehand with such error message than trying to understand what the crash messages actually mean.
