Nvidia control panel - optimal settings for VR?

Hi guys, 

 

I would like to start this thread to find out what people find are the optimal settings in the Nvidia control panel and why? 

 

I think we all have:

 

LOW LATENCY MODE set to ULTRA.

PWR Management - Prefer MAX performance

V SYNC - OFF

FRAME RATE MAX  - OFF

 

What about the other settings though?

 

Do the following settings make a big difference in image quality vs performance? 

 

IMAGE SHARPENING - On or off?

Negative LOD BIAS - I read that it's best to have this set to ALLOW

SHADER CACHE - On or off?

Pre-Rendered frames -  I noticed that 4 seems better than 1, less ghosting. 

 

 

 

I use a Reverb G1 at 90 Hz with reprojection forced/2080SUPER/Ryzen 5900X/32gb Ram

The only thing I use NVCP for is to set Ultimate Performance for my games profiles.

I've never heard if this. Does it give you better performance in DCS than when you manually tweak it?

Just insures my GPU runs at it's max boost during the game, course max boost also dependent on GPU temp.

Recommend this video by Lucas S. /Wolta were he goes through all the NVCP settings and their effect in VR:

 

 

4h:52m:35s into the video he concludes his findings. Basically not that many NVCP settings that have much effect on VR in DCS. Might be different on different systems so you gonna have to try for urself. But at least it gives some hints/guidance.

Cool, thanks for that link! I've not seen that video before. So basically,  power management to max performance and maybe use ULTRA low latency and perhaps pre rendered frames to 4.

Turn  Negative LOD Bias to "off" unless you like shimmering on edges/lines.

The only options I have are "Clamp" and "Allow" for LOD Bias?

Sorry, "Clamp" is the correct choice.
