JG27_Arklight Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I noticed on the F-16 that the pylons don't seem to be completely connected to the wings (noticed the most on the inner most wing pylons). Is this normal? Also, the left inner most pylon seems to be angled whereas the one on the opposite side is not. Is that normal? Hope this helps. Let me know if you need another or more pics. The gap is present on multiple pylons (you can see it on the HARM pylon to the right, for example), the weird angle/slant seems to only plague this pylon. Thanks! G.J.S Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 The pylon should be vertical, it’s the mount plate that seems to be not connecting to the wing lower surface - it’s at 90* to the pylon. 2 - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -

Yeah I noticed that\ as well. It causes the pylon to sit at an angle. No, the pylon itself is correct, it’s the mount plate at the top of the pylon that should lay flat on the wing underside. We had same on F-4’s, that’s why the pylons were handed. *actually scratch that - there is a small gap there also. Oops.
