Namenlos Ein Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The US Air contingent will guard Baltic air space with the strength of 100 servicemen and F-15C. 100 servicemen and single F-15C?
Pilotasso Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 PoAF took 4 F-16's and it took 75 men to service them. .

eurofor Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Sad news Agree. Where did they come from? Were they stationed at one of the US "forward bases" in Europe? 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

RedTiger Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 ?? Perhaps he is lamenting that they aren't air-policing themselves i.e. relying on the US to do it...? Thats my take.
eurofor Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) I think what we both mean is that we prefer Europeans to protect European air space, no? NATO is a relic of the Cold War and represents US influence hanging around. Europe needs to be strong by itself and increase cooperation with its nearby neighbours instead of being seen as a threat. NATO is in the way of such closer cooperation and the US has everything to gain from this. Europe needs to be independent and not biased either west or east. Maybe this is too much politics. Sorry. X-man Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Well, it's only for some months. As read in the article, ALL NATO countries are rotating the duty, and now it's US turn (again). Honestly, I dont see this being "in the way" for closer relations in the EU... 64th Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 135.181.115.54

Peyoteros Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 What is the list supposed to say? The list states who and when is flying over Baltic States... since LT joined NATO "Eagle Dynamics" - simulating human madness since 1991 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ۞ ۞
eurofor Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 The list states who and when is flying over Baltic States... since LT joined NATO I know :D but I think it was supposed to be an argument against what I said (like the list was self-explanatory) and I don't get it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RedTiger Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I know :D but I think it was supposed to be an argument against what I said (like the list was self-explanatory) and I don't get it. Either he was trying to show you that there have been Europeans policing European air space OR he was trying point out how much US kit the Europeans are using for said policing. Both make sense as a retort based on what you posted. :noexpression: Again, just my take. No comment here.
X-man Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I just find the Sad News comment funny, since this has happened every now and then the last three year. eurofor Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 We do not help ourself by sealing us in (EU). Cooperation is the future... Exactly what I said. "Either he was trying to show you that there have been Europeans policing European air space" Correct :) Ps; Russia will be in NATO (in future) probably that you want to learn at schools Chinese...obligatoril ;) Well yes, I know, we simply expressed discontent with the fact that it was their turn. I thought that was obvious. Russia in NATO... I just can't see that happening for quite a while. :noexpression: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
